'FREE MEMBERSHIP' Join On-line Now!

If you would like to join our multi-award winning scheme or require more information please contact your street coordinator.

A data protection form is required in order for your membership to be considered. You can download this form by clicking here.

If you're having trouble applying on line or don't wish to use this method please get in touch and we'll deliver a form to you for completion. Once your membership is accepted we'll notify you of your local street coordinator contact and arrange delivery of your membership pack.

Its only fair that we all pull together rather than just join the scheme and sit back while others to do all the work. Its not just about being a member but working as part of the community. Just an hour a month where you could maybe help with a litter pick, deliver a few newsletters or become a Environmental Street Leader in your road.

More about our awards

If you'd like to be involved with a proactive scheme that not only keeps its members, visitors, the police, PCC and other NHW groups throughout the UK up to date and in touch on the matters that affect Park Farm but also a scheme that actually gets its hands dirty doing the practical work in the community then Park Farm NHW is the scheme to join. We are described as the 'FLAGSHIP SCHEME' by Cambs Constabulary, 'THE LEADER' by PCC and 'BRILLIANT' by the retired Chair of Peterborough NHW Association.

In November 2006 we received an 'AWARD' from Cambs Constabulary for our service to the community.

(Chris receives the Service to the Community Award from Chief Inspector Hankins)

and in March 2007 we were invited to Westminster to be presented with a 'RESPECT AWARD' and '£1000' by the Government for our efforts and successes.

We think these accolades speak for themselves.

(Chris, Rick & Martin receive the Respect Award from Louise Casey)

The Home Secretary, John Reid said:

“Tackling anti-social behaviour, creating a more respectful society and re-building safer communities is a priority for this Government.

“And I am heartened that everyday more and more members of the public are working with the police and local councils right across the country to take action against anti-social behaviour and stand up for the rights of the law-abiding majority.

“The Respect Awards for Taking a Stand celebrate their bravery, courage and determination.

The initiative shown is inspiring; these dedicated individuals have: collected and given evidence in court; cleaned up their streets and parks; organised youth activities and set up residents and neighbourhood watch schemes. These awards are a fitting way to recognise these extraordinary people.”

How are funds controlled ?

All expenditure from our funds is approved by the sitting coordinator group on a democratic majority vote basis. All receipts are available for inspection by members on appointment.

Every 12 months members receive the latest statement of accounts. Prior to publication the accounts submitted are audited and approved by the coordinator group. Members may and indeed are encouraged to inspect the accounts themselves by appointment.

Our accounts are displayed openly for general public viewing on this website.

So how much time do I need to give and what exactly are my responsibilities?

Your primary responsibility is to look after yourself, your family and your property. We will help you with practical advice from the police and emergency services. Any other time you give is purely voluntary. You choose when you can help but we do request some level of voluntary service to help us in the community. Just an hour maximum each month is all we ask. Together as one community we can ensure Park Farm remains a safe, clean and pleasant place to live.

  • Be observant and vigilant
  • Report unusual and suspicious situations to the police and your coordinator in complete confidence.
  • Assist your coordinator if you can with initiatives.
  • Check your home security now and where necessary upgrade.
  • Assist in maintaining the environment of the neighbourhood free from rubbish, graffiti, abandoned vehicles and the like.

More about Park Farm Neighbourhood Watch

For over 4 years we’ve forged very strong relationships with the Police, local authorities, the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, Hereward Radio and the utility companies and had some great results.

Initiatives include the purchase and erection of 22 NHW Street Signs, 2 Smartwater Signs, crime statistics, crime prevention advice and help, NHW members’ website, graffiti removal, litter picking and street surveys which have had a marked effect on the previous level of anti social behaviour, underage drinking and vandalism.

Street Coordinators, our Police Community Safety Officer Carol Aston, the Southern Area Inspector Matt Snow, SGT Luke Coulson, our PCSO's and support from the Police Special Constabulary and our members make up a strong team who are committed to crime prevention and detection through positive community action.

Park Farm is a lovely area with an overall low crime rate but we too do sometimes suffer burglaries, car thefts, general vehicle crime, graffiti, vandalism and anti social behaviour involving under age drinking. We have all invested a lot of time and money in order to buy or rent our homes here and as a community the scheme works together to reduce the likelihood that criminals will steal or anti social behaviour will ruin what we have.

Please consider becoming a valued member of a scheme where we all look out for each other, not by curtain twitching but by being aware of our surroundings and our own personal and property security. We're the new face of NHW.
